To Apply
  1. You need at least one letter of recommendation from your music teacher, choir director, and/or private instructor. This letter will be confidential and should address your musical abilities, as well as your personal characteristics such as initiative, dependability, and commitment to increasing your vocal skills. A letter of introduction to give to potential references can be found on the Recommendation Letter Request Form page. All letters should be emailed to vocalyrica2@gmail.com.
  2. Prepare and submit your vocal audition link. Make sure you are demonstrating your best work and review your audition or portfolio carefully before submitting your link. Please note the following:
    1. Only one video will be accepted, no audio recording.
    2. At the beginning of your video, state your first and last name clearly, along with your age and your voice part. For example: “My name is Renee Fleming, I am 14 years old, and I am a soprano 2.”
    3. Perform your prepared solo accompanied or unaccompanied. You may perform an entire song, but you must include a minimum of 32 bars in your submission.
    4. Do not use any form of editing or acoustic altering effects in your audition.
    5. You will be asked to submit a link to your video (i.e. from your Google drive, Dropbox, YouTube, etc.).
    6. Only one link can be submitted, so make sure that your link contains all criteria for your audition.
  3. If you submit optional materials with your application, make sure to clearly label each entry with your name.
  4. Complete the entire form. Review your materials carefully before submitting
  5. The deadline for submitting completed applications and required documents is April 1.
