To Apply
- You need at least one letter of recommendation from your music teacher, choir director, and/or private instructor. This letter will be confidential and should address your musical abilities, as well as your personal characteristics such as initiative, dependability, and commitment to increasing your vocal skills. A letter of introduction to give to potential references can be found on the Recommendation Letter Request Form page. All letters should be emailed to vocalyrica2@gmail.com.
- Prepare and submit your vocal audition link. Make sure you are demonstrating your best work and review your audition or portfolio carefully before submitting your link. Please note the following:
- Only one video will be accepted, no audio recording.
- At the beginning of your video, state your first and last name clearly, along with your age and your voice part. For example: “My name is Renee Fleming, I am 14 years old, and I am a soprano 2.”
- Perform your prepared solo accompanied or unaccompanied. You may perform an entire song, but you must include a minimum of 32 bars in your submission.
- Do not use any form of editing or acoustic altering effects in your audition.
- You will be asked to submit a link to your video (i.e. from your Google drive, Dropbox, YouTube, etc.).
- Only one link can be submitted, so make sure that your link contains all criteria for your audition.
- If you submit optional materials with your application, make sure to clearly label each entry with your name.
- Complete the entire form. Review your materials carefully before submitting
- The deadline for submitting completed applications and required documents is April 1.
