In 2001, founding artistic director Ginny Kerwin was inspired by her love of artistic expression and vocal excellence to create Voca Lyrica. From humble yet dedicated beginnings, Voca Lyrica has grown to include up to 50 singers. We are a diverse group—young and old, mothers and daughters, old friends and new friends, formally trained, naturally gifted—all joined together in a sisterhood with the common bond of sharing our love for vocal music.
Voca Lyrica has sung its way around the world, from New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center to the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. and Grace Church in San Francisco, as well as the world-famous Sydney Opera House in Australia. We’ve sung in the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Croatia, Hungary, and throughout the British Isles. We’ve also traveled with five other U.S. choirs to San Sebastian, Spain to perform with composer/conductor Dr. Andrea Ramsey at the Basilica of Santa Maria del Coro.
